The Day of the Moldovan Miracle, September 28, 2025
The citizens of the Republic of Moldova defeated Putin with the weapon of democracy. Voters and state institutions alike repelled a furious attack by Russia, overcame a wave of disinformation, hybrid tactics, bomb threats at polling stations, and showed the whole of Europe the power of the European dream.
Today, the Republic of Moldova is an example for us all, an example of true patriotism, because there is nothing more patriotic than people who decide their own future despite the imperialist dreams of a dictator.
It was an unforgettable privilege for me to be part of the European Parliament’s election observation mission for this parliamentary elections. I will forever treasure the dedication of the people of the Republic of Moldova and their commitment to democracy, and I will continue to fully support the European integration of this country with all my skills.
