Europe stands with Romania in difficult times

I voted in the European Parliament in favour of a vital financial support package for our country. Through the mobilisation of the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF), more than €14.3 million (€14,339,675, to be precise) will be allocated to Romania.

Why was this measure adopted?

At the end of May and the beginning of June 2025, several regions of Romania were severely affected by devastating floods. These funds will support reconstruction efforts, help restore damaged infrastructure and assist local communities in recovering as quickly as possible. I also voted in favour of an amendment calling for EU funding for the swift reconstruction of the Praid salt mine and the affected areas.

European solidarity is not merely a theoretical concept. It translates into concrete action and tangible financial support when citizens need it most.
