Romania stands at a crucial moment. We have the opportunity to consolidate our position within the European Union, to advance a transformative agenda that ensures prosperity, security and a brighter future for all our citizens.
As a Member of the European Parliament, and particularly as a member of the Committee on Regional Development, I am dedicated to using my experience and influence to shape a Romania that thrives in a strong and united Europe.
Building a Modernized Romania through Strategic EU Engagement
Our national progress depends on our ability to efficiently utilize EU resources, particularly through negotiating the future Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF). We must advocate for a robust MFF that prioritizes Romania's strategic needs, focusing on investments that generate long-term value.
Efficient Absorption of EU Funds
We must streamline administrative processes and enhance transparency to maximize the impact of EU investments. This includes targeted support for infrastructure development, digital transformation and green transition.
Strengthening Regional Development
Cohesion policy is not merely a financial instrument; it is a cornerstone of European solidarity. We will advocate for equitable fund allocation that addresses regional disparities, stimulates sustainable growth and empowers local communities. This includes robust funding for family farms and rural development, vital for our nation's economic balance.
Implementing the NRRP and Beyond
We must ensure the successful implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and build upon its foundations. We will advocate for policies that stimulate innovation, create jobs and enhance our competitiveness in the global economy.
A Voice for Romania in Shaping Europe's Future
Romania's voice must be heard in the decisions shaping the future of the European Union. We will actively participate in political discussions, advocating for our national interests and contributing to building a common European future.
Strategic Autonomy and Security
In an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape, Europe must consolidate its strategic autonomy. We will support initiatives that enhance European defence capabilities, deepen cooperation within NATO and provide unwavering support to Ukraine.
EU Enlargement and Regional Stability
EU enlargement is a strategic imperative for our region. We will continue to support the accession of the Republic of Moldova and North Macedonia, recognizing their vital role in ensuring stability and prosperity in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
Protecting Romanian Interests
We will protect the rights of Romanian citizens working across Europe, ensuring fair wages, decent conditions and access to quality social services.
